Common questions about Microsoft 365
What is included in Microsoft 365?
Microsoft 365 combines the Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), business email, cloud storage and sharing through SharePoint and OneDrive, Teams for chat and meetings, and built-in security and device management. The exact mix depends on your plan, and we help you choose the right one for your business.
How much does Microsoft 365 cost?
Microsoft 365 is licensed per user per month, and the price depends on the plan you choose. As a rough guide, Microsoft's list pricing runs from around A$8 to A$10 per user per month for Business Basic, A$17 to A$20 for Business Standard, and A$30 to A$35 for Business Premium, billed annually and excluding GST; enterprise E3 and E5 plans cost more. Prices change over time, so treat these as indicative. Many businesses pay for licences they do not use, or sit on a plan that no longer fits, so we review your licensing to make sure you only pay for what you actually need.
Which Microsoft 365 plan is right for my business?
It depends on your size, your security requirements and how your team works. Business Basic suits email and web apps, Business Standard adds the desktop apps, and Business Premium adds advanced security and device management. Larger or regulated businesses often need E3 or E5. We match the plan to your needs rather than overselling.
Does Microsoft back up my Microsoft 365 data?
Not in the way most people assume. Microsoft keeps your service running and offers limited retention, but under its shared responsibility model, protecting your data is your responsibility. Accidental deletion, ransomware or a departing staff member can still lose data permanently. We add an independent backup of your email, files and Teams so it is recoverable.
Is Microsoft 365 secure?
Microsoft 365 has strong security built in, but it only protects you when it is configured and enforced. The common gaps are MFA that is not turned on for everyone, files shared too broadly, and no advanced email protection. We review and tighten these so your setup is secure by default, not just capable of it.
Do you align with the ACSC Essential Eight?
Yes. The Essential Eight is the Australian Cyber Security Centre's baseline of eight strategies for reducing the most common cyber risks. We implement and maintain those controls across your Microsoft 365 environment, from multi-factor authentication and application control to patching and restricting administrative privileges. We can assess your current maturity and lift it to the level your business or your contracts require.
Can you move us to Microsoft 365 without disrupting the business?
